AAP govt's first budget has no new taxes, focuses on health & education
Unveiling its first Rs 1.55 lakh crore budget for 2022-23, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab focused on higher allocations to key sectors like health and education, besides funding the 300 units of free power scheme in its maiden. While the government did not impose any new taxes, it deferred its much-hyped pre-poll promise of Rs 1,000 per month for every woman. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann described it as a roadmap for a "New Punjab"
