Akhilesh chooses to be leader of opposition in UP In a move aimed at increasing his engagement in the state politics, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav resigned from Lok Sabha on Tuesday to retain his Karhal assembly seat. Veteran party leader Azam Khan also quit as an MP to retain Rampur assembly seat.
