Former cop impersonates superintendent of police, held by Goa police 
Former police constable Suraj Pendse was arrested by Goa police for allegedly impersonating superintendent of police (SP) Mahesh Gaonkar to cheat a person to the tune of Rs 1 lakh. Pendse joined Goa police in 2013 and was dismissed from service in 2017. Crime branch police inspector Narayan Chimulkar said that Pendse’s modus operandi involved calling people and asking them for a bribe in exchange for allowing them to complete their work.
