Goa: Revellers avidly celebrate Sao Joao in Calangute 
The Calangute-Candolim tourism belt saw an enthusiastic turnout of people celebrating Sao Joao festival on Friday, although the actual feast of St John the Baptist was observed on Thursday. Groups of villagers wearing ‘copels’ (headgear of flowers) were seen partaking in the revellry around wells. “Not everyone jumps in the well. It’s very tiring to resurface later,” a villager said.
