Goa: Shell out more for traffic violations as new MV Act comes into force on April 1
The state government on Saturday decided to implement the new amended Motor Vehicles Act from April 1. Starting that day, paying small fines of Rs 100 for traffic violations will be a thing of the past, as the new act moots a fine of Rs 10,000 for driving without license, and Rs 1,000-2,000 for overspeeding, first offence. On second offence, the license would be suspended.
