Goa: Union ministry’s ‘Water Hero’ award to scientist who helped revive six ponds in Curti-Khandepar 
A senior scientist at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Firoz Badesab, has helped push revival of six traditional water bodies at Curti-Khandepar in Ponda taluka by encouraging community involvement. This effort of sustainably developing the local water resources has now seen Badesab being chosen by the Union jal shakti department of the water resources ministry for the ‘Water Hero Award’.
