High emissions: Pb among 11 states to be worst-hit
Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab will be the most severely affected under RC.5 (high emissions scenario), at the end of the century. But if emissions continue to increase, all Indian states will have regions that experience a wet-bulb of 30°C or more by the end of the century. Rice production in parts of India could fall by 30% if emissions are high.
