Alleging a plot to eliminate the party and control the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the Shiromani Akali Dal went on with its Baisakhi conference at the Sikh temporal seat of Takht Damdama Sahib despite a cold response to project that it was down after a crushing defeat in the state assembly elections but not out.
