Punjab wants to pay NGT fine in 3 tranches
Taking a strong note of the Punjab government's failure to scientifically manage solid waste and to prevent discharge of untreated sewage, the NGT had on September 23 directed the state to deposit a compensation of Rs 2,080 crore in a separate ring-fenced account within two months to restore environmental damage.
