Thousands of fish die as weed takes over entire Gadchiroli lake
Similar to a scene from science fiction movies on invasion by alien species, a few feet of aquatic green vegetation on the periphery of a lake in Gadchiroli covered the entire five acre water surface in less than two weeks. Those passing by Chintala Lake, located within Gadchiroli city, could not help but notice the shockingly fast growing green cover. But by the time it was reported, thousands of fish had died.
