UP govt launches 2 schemes for fishermen community
The UP government has launched two new schemes in the financial year 2022-23 for the welfare and economic well-being of the 17 sub-castes of the 'machhua' (fishermen) community in the state, who have been hit hard due to the loss of their traditional sources of income and livelihood. The schemes were promised in the BJP's poll manifesto for the 2022 assembly elections.
