UP pushes to cover max farmers under PM grant scheme
Approximately 20% of farmers registered under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY) in Uttar Pradesh have not had their documents validated by the state government, resulting in them being deprived of an annual grant of Rs 6,000. Efforts are now being made to cover more farmers under the scheme, with over 10 lakh farmers submitting or verifying their documents during a two-month drive. The agriculture department is conducting a door-to-door survey and setting up helpdesks to ensure eligible farmers are authenticated and receive the benefits of the scheme.
