Zirakpur: After gurdwara manager dies, police arrest 3
Police have arrested three people in the death of the 53-year-old manager of Gurdwara Nabha Sahib at Zirakpur. Ranjit Singh was declared dead on arrival at a private hospital in Zirakpur on Friday. Onkar Singh, SHO, Zirakpur police station, said the accused are Avtar Singh, 53, a resident of Nagla village in Zirakpur, Sukhwinder Pal Singh Patwari, 55, and his son Ravinder Pal, 22, both residents of Mansa. Shamsher Singh, storekeeper of the gurdwara, alleged the accused misbehaved with Ranjit Singh in the gurdwara and threatened him on Friday, leading to his death. Police found Patwari had taken a room in the gurdwara for three days but allegedly stayed for more than 45 days. Later, Ranjit Singh vacated the room. Patwari filed a complaint at the office of the SGPC in Amritsar against him.
