6 special DGs appointed a day before UP DGP Devendra Singh Chauhan retires
UP Police's additional director general of police (law and order) Prashant Kumar along with five others were promoted as the Special Director General (SDG) of Police on Thursday. Sources in the home department said that in absence of names being sent to the UPSC for the post of DGP, and as a tradition, ADG LO Prashant Kumar, is also likely to be appointed as officiating DGP till further orders. Uttar Pradesh DGP Devendra Singh Chauhan will superannuate today.
