Goan is India's 1st woman firefighter to operate crash fire tender
Disha Naik, the first certified woman firefighter in India, operates a crash fire tender (CFT) at the Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) unit of Manohar International Airport (MIA) in Goa. GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) facilitated her training in Tamil Nadu. Naik joined the Airport Rescue and Firefighting department in November 2021, officially becoming the first certified woman firefighter from Goa. She underwent six months of rigorous external training in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, to become a CFT operator. GGIAL is committed to gender diversity and equal growth opportunities for all employees.
