Muslim MLA count in UP assembly rises to 34
Down to their lowest number -- 25 -- in the 2017 elections, the number of Muslim winners shot to 34 in 2022 UP elections. Barring three, all others are from the Samajwadi Party ( SP). Two of them contested on the RLD tickets while one was the candidate of SBSP.
